3D Ply Update
First, apologies to everyone that feels we have not been communicating adequately. We agree this is the case, but there are reasons that this is the way it is and we are working hard to resolve this.
The team at 3D are all operational on some way including the management team. While this makes us very efficient and keeps our costs in control, the poor signal on our site means that for a great deal of the time, the team are unable to respond to communications.
We are working to install Wi-Fi throughout the factory but this is taking longer than anticipated.
Tanya and I cover both companies, Global Upholstery and 3D. We now both spend 2 alternate days at each every week. The third day we use for admin and catching up with our other duties.
For the first 4 or 5 months we attempted to fight every fire. This hasn’t worked. We are now focusing on implementing the systems and procedures that prevent the problems we (and you) are experiencing.
We are working on better scheduling of the work, new processes for maintenance and repair of tools, new methods of tooling manufacture, updating and upgrading our machinery for reliability plus introducing better IT systems to improve information flow and recruiting additional roles including material control, sales and a new operations manager to oversee all manufacturing operations for our two companies.
Our criteria as far as you are concerned, is that you can place an order, have a confirmed delivery and then receive that delivery on the date scheduled, repeatably and reliably. That is what we are working towards.
While this work goes on there will be times when communications are not optimal to say the least.
Please bear with us and we will ensure that we have an optimal solution for all of us in the coming months.
With the communication issues at the 3D factory, if something is urgent, the best way to contact Tanya, Adrian or Lee is by contacting Jade. We all check in with Jade every day and so she can pass on messages as required.
